Well December brought about a whole new set of challenges, mostly in the form of the H1N1 virus, followed by a pretty horrible secondary infection not to mention various other seasonal germs! It was a battle to say the least, as literally the whole month was a complete write off running wise!

Also, it was the festive season, so there was a lot going on and much to think about.
That said, I really did make the best of things and managed a few runs, but mostly just took gentle walks along with lots of stretching and a bit of yoga. I learned the very important lesson about it being okay to listen to your body and adjust accordingly. Usually I struggle with changing "the plan", but in this case, I was very weak and had no choice. I seized each moment to get up and about, take a walk in the winter sun or take part in stress free Christmas activities.
Amidst decorating the Christmas tree and enjoying quiet festivities at home with the girls (and cats!), I managed to attend my support service's Christmas dinner which was lovely. I'm so grateful for these services that strive to make what seems might seem simple to most, accessible to all.
The absolute highlight of my month though (perhaps even my year!), was being fortunate enough to watch one of my most favourite musicals ever, "Hamilton" in the West End, London on Boxing Day! It truly was the best treat ever and I may have gotten a few funny looks as I sat on the edge of my seat, flapping my hands and stimming away in my musical heaven! I was very fortunate enough to be able to wait in a "quiet area" before the show and during the interval, so that helped enormously. Although it took me a while to recover, it was absolutely monumental! Hamilton has been one of my special interests for a long while now and to be able to experience it in all its glory was simply magical.
